John A. Belward

John Belward is a Professional Mathematician, an expert in Scientific Computation and an outstanding teacher.
He recently retired as Associate Professor from the Mathematics Department at the University of Queensland
He remains associated with the university in an honorary capacity as Honorary Reader in the Advanced Computational Modelling Centre
John is also an Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology

   John has established the Queensland Consortium for Scientific Computation and Mathematics as an independent body set up to foster
   the application of mathematics and scientific computation to practical problems. The Consortium offers services in Consulting and
   Research,  Mathematical Software and Advanced Tuition


John's interests continue to include:


Scientific Computing
, Surface Fitting, Modelling plant growth, Urban planning and Numerical solution of Integral Equations

The presentation and teaching of mathematics.  The use of Mathematical Software in tertiary studies. Provision of mathematical techniques to users of mathematics.  Fundamentally sound textbooks for senior year Mathematics in High Schools.
